Every now and then, Doha seems almost normal, but the almost is critical. For example: imagine a music festival… Local bands play from 12 noon to 12 midnight… It is an outdoor open air venue… People have coolers full of beer, lawn chairs, bbq grills, and are camping out for the night… the venue: the middle of the desert on the slip face of a sand dune.
